The 29th June saw another first for Redmoor Academy as we held our first post-16 Careers Fair. This was aimed at Year 9 and 10 parents/carers and generated an attendance of almost 400 who had booked in advance, with many more additionally turning up on the evening. The event was very well supported by post-16 providers who commented on the interest, enthusiasm, and politeness of Redmoor Students. One of the exhibitors even went out of their way to comment that Redmoor Academy students were the most polite students they had ever come across.
There was a range of providers catering for different types of post-16 destinations, including A level providers, BTEC college courses, apprenticeships and traineeships.
There were two seminars running throughout the evening as well – one aimed at year 9 students about the work experience programme for 2016/17 and the other, about the difference level of apprenticeship placements, aimed at all students.
In addition to students and parents finding the event informative and engaging, the event was well supported by Redmoor tutors and our new Year 10 Manger for 2016/17 who had given up their time to ensure they had the correct information ready to support the post-16 application process. The feedback received on the evening was unanimously positive, but the Futures team welcome any comments to ensure that the event will be even better next year. All comments to email@example.com
