At Redmoor Academy, our students secure excellent outcomes year upon year. The Class of 2026’s results mark another outstanding milestone, with attainment that ranks among the very highest in our school’s history and includes many ‘best evers’. We couldn’t be prouder of our Year 11s.
Year after year, Redmoor students achieve outcomes that consistently place them above the national average. But great achievements are rarely down to luck or talent alone: they are built through continued effort, dedication, and great resilience. These beliefs sit at the core of our Redmoor DNA.
Our staff work tirelessly to ensure that every student achieves their absolute best, whatever their starting point. This year, students secured hundreds of top 7-9 grades across our broad offer of qualifications, recorded the highest number of grades 9 to 5 in English and Maths to date, and disadvantaged students excelled. We are deeply proud to be aspirational and inclusive in equal measure.
Each year, our students move on from Redmoor equipped with the grades and character to take their next steps with confidence – whether that’s college, an apprenticeship, or entering the world of work. They leave us ready to make their mark on their world with exciting futures ahead.
Post-Results Services
Unfortunately some students might be unhappy with their results and may want to look into their performance further, and, if they choose to, to have their papers checked by examiners for a second time. However, there are fees that students/parents will need to pay and important deadlines that you will need to be aware of. Please read through the frequently asked questions (FAQs) below to find out more about the exam boards’ post-results services on offer.
Remember, the first thing you need to do is talk to us. You can contact your class teacher, Head of Department, Ms Sinclair or Mr Jarvis to discuss any of your concerns. We are here to help you understand your grades.
Post-Results Information 2026
What services do exam boards offer?
Exam boards offer 3 main post-results services to you as individual candidates, as follows:
- Access to an electronic copy of your script: if you request this then your teachers will review your marked paper(s) carefully to decide whether to proceed with one of the next two options. They will contact you to let you know what their professional advice is.
- A clerical re-check: this is a paid service where an examiner will make sure that all parts of the exam paper(s) were marked, that all marks were counted / added up correctly, that grade boundaries have been correctly applied and that the result matches the marks on the paper.
- A review of marking: this paid service means a second examiner will review the paper/recording again to identify genuine marking errors or unreasonable marking. They will be checking that the mark scheme has been applied correctly.
Further information about each exam board’s services, fees and deadlines can be found in the table, but your first step is to get in touch with your teacher and request that they review your script(s).
You can also find further information about each exam board’s processes using the links below:
What do I do first?
In the first instance we ask you to contact your teacher or Head of Department to discuss your concerns. They will be best placed to advise you about how close you were to the next grade boundary, and whether you might benefit from a post-results service. They will be able to request a copy of your marked paper from us so that they can see whether it will be worthwhile applying for a clerical check or review of marking.
Thursday 3rd September is the absolute latest deadline for us to request a copy of your script(s). You must try to get your requests in to us 48 hours in advance of this date. Remember that your teachers must see and review these before we can pursue a more in-depth review with your exam board so the longer you wait the longer the whole process will take. Please get your requests in to us 48 hours in advance of this date, by the morning of Tuesday 1st September.
What happens once I have requested that my teacher reviews my paper?
Once your teacher has reviewed your paper then they will contact you to discuss the next steps. If they believe that a clerical check or review of marking will be worthwhile for you then they will explain the process and any costs that you will need to pay.
You must understand that after the appeals process your grade may go up, stay the stay, or go down. When placing an appeal you will have to sign a declaration saying that you accept the fact your grade may go down and you may get a lower grade than your original result. Though this will be unlikely, it is not impossible.
If you still decide to go ahead with a review of marking then you will need to complete a form (available via Ms Sinclair) and return it to school to Ms Sinclair, Exams Officer, well in advance of the deadline of Thursday 24th September. You will need to bring in the cash or cheque for payment before this time too. If your grade changes as a result of the check or review then the exam board will refund your money.
What are the deadlines?
The deadline for requesting a post-exam service varies according to the service.
Thursday September 3rd is the absolute latest deadline for us to request a copy of your script(s). Remember, your teachers need to see and review these before we can pursue a more in-depth review of the clerical processes or marking of your work. Please try to get your requests in to us 48 hours in advance so we can support you.
Thursday September 24th is the latest deadline for us to request a clerical re-check or a review of marking. We need completed forms and payment for this so please try to bring your completed forms and payment into school at least 48 hours before this time.
What will be the outcome of my review of marking or clerical check?
The appeals process can take some time. We will be in touch as soon as we hear back from the exam board. It can take a few weeks to receive the outcome so please be patient.
If you have any questions which have not been answered here then please contact Ms Sinclair or Mr Jarvis at school.
