Inclusive Education at Redmoor Academy
At Redmoor Academy, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. Our inclusion ethos is rooted in the belief that every young person is valued, respected and capable of success.
We are committed to providing an inclusive, nurturing and ambitious education where every pupil – regardless of need or background – is supported to achieve, belong and thrive.
Students with SEND are fully included in all aspects of school life. They are recognised for their strengths, supported to overcome barriers and empowered to fulfil their potential.
Our Vision for SEND
Our vision is that students with SEND achieve strong academic and personal outcomes, experience a genuine sense of belonging within our school community, and thrive as confident, capable young people.
Achievement at Redmoor Academy extends beyond examination results. It includes progress in learning, development of key skills, growing independence, emotional regulation, communication, resilience and preparation for adulthood. Through high-quality, adaptive teaching and carefully tailored support, students access a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum.
Belonging is central to our practice. Students with SEND attend, participate and contribute meaningfully to school life. Strong, respectful relationships underpin our work, and staff know their students well. Every member of staff takes responsibility for advocating for inclusion and ensuring that students feel safe, accepted and understood.
At Redmoor Academy, thriving means more than coping – it means flourishing. Students are supported to build confidence, independence and resilience so that they can embrace challenge, take pride in their achievements and look to the future with ambition. We prepare young people for sustained success in further education, employment and adult life.
Students leave Redmoor Academy having achieved meaningful outcomes, developed character and resilience, experienced a strong sense of belonging and built ambitious aspirations for their futures.

Our Ethos in Action
Our approach to SEND reflects and strengthens the school’s wider ethos of Aspiration, Belonging and Character, ensuring every pupil feels valued, supported and empowered to achieve their full potential, develop confidence and independence, and thrive both in school and beyond.
Working in Partnership
We work closely with families and a range of external professionals to secure strong educational and wider outcomes for our students. Collaborative working ensures that provision is personalised, responsive and focused on enabling every young person to achieve, belong and thrive.
We also maintain strong links with local primary and Post 16 settings to support carefully planned transitions. These partnerships help ensure that students with SEND move confidently between phases of education and continue to thrive.
