At Redmoor Academy we have a strong ethos of student leadership and all students have the opportunity to join the Student Voice. Being a part of this body helps our students to improve their understanding of democracy and the rule of law and to develop their moral and social skills. They’re given experiences which grow their confidence, increase their skills and encourage teamwork. All Student Voice members actively seek to promote and model the values of the Redmoor DNA in all that they do.
Led by the Year 11 Student President and Vice President, the Student Voice team is currently comprised of over thirty students from across both key stages who have been democratically elected by their peers. In our system we have:
- A Student President and Vice President (elected from the Year 11 cohort)
- A House Captain for each house in Year 10 and Year 11
- A House Representative from each Key Stage 3 tutor group, formed into year group committees
As well as helping to lead on our committee areas of rewards, the environment and charities, these students also plan and implement many of Redmoor’s house competitions and initiatives. They act as ambassadors for our school and are a visible presence and influence in leading improvement for their peers and staff alike.
