Post Results Information 2022

Congratulations on your first set of official qualifications! We hope that you are pleased with your grades and excited about the next stage in your journey – whether that is an apprenticeship, employment or further study. All of the staff here at Redmoor are incredibly proud of you and your achievements – especially as you’ve navigated an unusual past three years with resilience and determination.

However, we know that some of you might still have questions about your results so please read through the information below to find out more about how you can review your results. Remember, the first thing you need to do is talk to us. You can contact your teacher, Head of Department, Ms Sinclair or Mrs Nichols to discuss any of your concerns. We are here to help.

What can I do if I’m not happy with my grade?

All students across the country have the opportunity to appeal their grades. However, there are fees and deadlines to be aware of.  In the first instance, we ask you to contact your teacher or Head of Department to discuss your concerns. They will be best placed to advise you about how close you were to the next grade boundary, and whether you might benefit from a post-results service. It is important to note that an appeal may result in a grade being lowered, staying the same, or going up. So if you put in an appeal and your grade is lowered, you will receive the lower mark.

What services do exam boards offer?

Exam boards offer the following services to you as individual candidates:

  • A copy of your script: we can use this to decide whether to proceed with one of the following two options;
  • A clerical re-check: this will make sure that: all parts of the exam paper(s) were marked; that all marks were counted / added up correctly; that grade boundaries have been correctly applied and that the result matches the marks on the paper);
  • A review of marking: this includes a clerical check (the same as Service 1), plus a review of the marking of units by a second examiner will review the paper/recording again to identify genuine marking errors or unreasonable marking. They are checking that the mark scheme has been applied correctly.

Further information about each exam board’s services, fees and deadlines can be found in the table below:

You can also find further information about each exam board’s processes using the links below:

  • AQA
  • OCR
  • Pearson Edexcel
  • WJEC

What should I do next?

If you, your parents and teachers decide to go ahead with the review then you will need to complete the form attached here and return to Ms Sinclair, Exams Officer, in advance of the deadline stated above.

What are the deadlines for non-priority (GCSE) appeals?

The deadline for requesting a post-exam service varies according to the service. For Edexcel GCSE, you can request a priority service by the 1st September (this is more expensive and only needed if you want your outcome more quickly).

September 8th is the deadline to request a copy of your script(s). These can help you and your teachers whether to pursue a more in-depth review of the clerical processes or marking of your work.

September 29th is the deadline for a clerical re-check or review of marking.

What will be the outcome of an appeal?

After the appeals process your grade may go up, stay the stay, or go down. When placing an appeal you will have to sign a declaration saying that you accept the fact your grade may go down and they may get a lower grade than your original result.

If you have any questions which have not been answered here, please contact Ms Sinclair or Mrs Nichols at school.

Redmoor Academy Results Day 2026!

What an incredible morning at Redmoor as we celebrated the exam results of our ‘Class of 2026’. We couldn't be prouder of our Year 11s.

Great achievements are rarely down to luck or talent alone: they are built through continued effort, dedication and great resilience. These beliefs sit at the core of our Redmoor DNA and seeing our students celebrate with their friends and teachers this morning was a brilliant reminder of how hard they have worked - and what a special group of young people they are.

A massive thank you to all of our incredible Redmoor staff, and to our wonderful parents and carers for all the late-night revision, pep talks and support along the way. It really does take a village!

To our Year 11s: whether you’re heading off to college, starting an apprenticeship or stepping into training, you leave us ready for whatever comes next. We are all so very proud of you and wish you every success for your very bright futures - remember, Redmoor for life!
