During the first few weeks of the school year we have spent time introducing year 7 to how we learn at Redmoor and our high expectations, instilling in them the attitudes and skills that we know are essential for students to be successful. Students show this through the Redmoor DNA, 7 key characteristics that lead to success: resilient, engaged, motivated, organised, optimistic and responsible. These characteristics were put together by Redmoor students and are our blueprint for success and excellence in all we do.  Year 7 have been brilliant in beginning to show such characteristics within lessons. However, at Redmoor we also value giving students opportunities to develop these in other ways. One of our core values is to provide our students with experiences that develop their Redmoor DNA and provide them with the skills that employers and higher education providers believe are as important as qualifications.

Therefore, on Friday 25th September, all of year 7 took part in a team building day at Redmoor. Students took part in a range of different activities, from code breaking to working together on our stompers. The students were excellent, showing different elements of the Redmoor DNA throughout the day. There were lots of rewards points and prizes given out for great team work skills and resilience when the challenge became tough!
