Our dearest thoughts and best wishes are with the family of John Tomlinson, one of our Year 9 students, who tragically passed away on Sunday 26th March 2017 after a brief illness. As a community we have been stunned by this news and want to ensure that all students and staff are supported at this difficult time as we remember John.
John was a quiet and unassuming member of 9 Oak and had a smile that would light up a room. His passion for engines and all things engineering was well known, with him even saying he would “drive a lamp post if it had an engine in it.” He started every day by bringing his mug of tea to school – Yorkshire of course, 2 tea bags and 4 sugars.
A book of remembrance will be available in school for all to sign and leave their memories of John and counselling services will be on hand throughout the week to support those who need them.
Please join us in sending our condolences to John’s family.
