I am writing to inform you of the peripatetic music tuition that will be available at Redmoor this next academic year, September 2023 to July 2024. All peripatetic music lessons have a cost. All financial contracts entered into are on an individual Music Teacher basis, as all our peripatetic music teachers are self-employed. If your child is accepted for Pupil Premium benefits, then please state this on your returned form so that we can review how much financial support can be given to help with music tuition for your child.

If you would like your child to begin, or continue, peripatetic music lessons in 2023/2024 please use the contact details on the listed peripatetic music teacher sheet and contact the teacher you would like to teach your child yourself. Whether it is via email, phone call or text message, this information is included clearly on the third sheet for each individual teacher. Initially this may be just an inquiry. There is no commitment to this. If you choose to go ahead with tuition – confirm this with the teacher and let myself know by filling in the second page of the letter and returning it to myself preferably via email to fmatthews@redmooracademy.org that would be most appreciated. If you are receiving a paper copy of this letter, this may be posted back to school and addressed FAO Mr Matthews. This would be very helpful to know who to expect regarding the timetabling of lessons in September.
All the teachers operating at Redmoor undergo DBS checks and safeguarding training. Their lessons are also observed and monitored. A teacher described as ‘an associate’ of the Leicestershire hub has access to instruments which can be borrowed from the County store for a small fee to yourselves. If they are not an associate teacher, the instrument your child wishes to play must be provided by you – unless we have one available in school.
Music tuition at Redmoor will start and continue in September as normal. If you have any questions about the above information, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Matthews at Redmoor. They are all committed to the provision of instrumental tuition in schools and will do their best to meet your needs.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU CONTACT THE TEACHER YOU NEED YOURSELF DIRECTLY TO ENSURE THAT THE TUITION YOU NEED FOR YOUR CHILD IS MET AND PROVIDED. ALL CONTRACTS ARE ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS.
