We hope you have had a wonderful summer break and are looking forward, as we are, to students being back to school in the week commencing Monday 23rd August. We have finalised the LFT testing schedule and are delighted to confirm that we are able to stick to our planned return dates for all year groups;
Testing Date | Return to School Date | |
Years 7 & 11 | Monday 23rd August | Tuesday 24th August |
Years 8, 9 & 10 | Tuesday 24th August | Wednesday 25th August |

For their return, please ensure students are in full school uniform and bring with them normal school equipment such as pens, pencils, rulers etc. As we mentioned in our communication in July, students are only permitted to wear a small discreet stud piercing in each ear and a watch – which must be able to be removed for PE lessons. All other piercings must be removed for school and hair colour should be natural.
We have reverted back to to our original times for the school day for all students;
- Students should be on site no later than 8.35am for an 8.40am start
- The school day ends at 3pm
All year groups will have time with their form tutors and assemblies on the first day back with Year 7 having an extended morning on their first day as part of their induction into Redmoor.
It is not only exciting to welcome students back for the new school year but to be able to do so knowing we can provide a full Redmoor experience for the first time in nearly two years. We will continue to promote excellent hand hygiene and hand sanitiser will be readily available. After their initial two LFT tests in school, students will be expected to continue testing at home throughout September. We are awaiting delivery of these tests and will notify you when we send these home with students.
As always, we look forward to your support and involvement in the academic year ahead and meeting you at the relevant events planned for your child.
I hope you enjoy the remaining days of the summer break.
Kind regards,
Matt Nicolle
Principal

After two years of disrupted study, Redmoor Academy is delighted to be celebrating the fantastic achievements of our Year 11 students.
The resilience, commitment, dedication and sheer hard work demonstrated by this group of students has been incredible and they fully deserve the results they have been awarded. Our rigorous and thorough internal assessments ensured that teachers were able to accurately assess the hard work of our students across the breadth of the GCSE course.
This group of students have continually exemplified our Redmoor DNA through their effort and attitudes. We are immensely proud of them. Put simply, they are Redmoor students. All our students have achieved grades that allow them to access Post 16 destinations, with some students achieving eight or nine Grade 9s – an achievement that puts them amongst the elite of every Year 11 student in the UK.
There are too many to mention and we are proud of every single one of our students but notable performances, either for achieving the highest grades or making exceptional progress, include Daisy Hunt, Reuben Wood, Jess Clarke, Samantha Martin, Liam Warren, Alexa-Maria Ilas, Phoebe Smith, Ben Suart, Abigail Salmen and Waleeyah Ishaq.
We wish them all the very best for their futures which are bright and full of potential and possibility.
Thank you to our Year 6 transition students that were able to join us over the past two days. We have loved having you visit in preparation for September, we hope you enjoyed your small taste of Redmoor!

Please find a copy of the Transition Booklet for Year 6 students below. Here you can find information about starting Redmoor as well as a link to our interactive map and the welcome video from the principal, Matt Nicolle.
As we begin the final term of 2021’s academic year tomorrow, we wanted to say goodbye to our Year 11 students as we celebrated their final day at Redmoor last Friday with a day of celebrations and ‘The Party in the Park’.
Mrs Buckingham wanted to say: “A big thank you to you lovely year 11’s for making our last day together so memorable. It has been a pleasure getting to know you all and working with you over the past five years. You have grown into the most wonderful young people, who I am sure will go out into the world and make a difference. Take care of yourselves. Remember to stay safe, be kind, but most of all be happy!”
We wish you good luck and we look forward to seeing you all on Results Day. Take care for now, from all of us at Redmoor.

To Year 11 students, parents and carers,
As we approach the end of the summer term, and students’ time as Redmoor students, we are keen to offer our graduating year group the same opportunities that our previous cohorts have enjoyed – especially at this unusual time. This year, we are pleased to announce that we will again be offering a leavers hoodie.
The personalised hoodie will be a pullover style in light ‘moondust’ grey with a black printed design. The front of the hoodie will display a small Redmoor ‘R’ on the left breast with the back displaying the print design shown in the right hand image below, personalised with first names and surnames of our Year 11s.

The hoodie is priced at £20.27 and available in 6 size adult options: XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL. Unfortunately, due to the current restrictions in place around Coronavirus, there will not be the option to look at samples or try on for sizing. However, full details of chest measurements are included below. We will be unable to accept any responsibility for sizing issues once the hoodie has been ordered, so highly recommend that you take note of the measurements provided.
XS: 34”
S: 36”
M: 40”
L: 44”
XL: 48”
XXL: 52”
If you would like to purchase a hoodie please order via ParentMail, selecting the size option carefully. You will need to do this by no later than Monday 10th May so that our orders can be placed and fulfilled by the end of this half term. Please note orders cannot be accepted without full payment being made. Hoodies will be available for collection on Friday 28th May.
Due to GDPR we now require your consent to: include your child’s name in the print; to share it with our supplier to print the design; and to include it on all students’ purchased hoodies. A separate form has been sent out for you to complete, via ParentMail, in order to give this consent. We ask that students who have changed their surnames check the name that will be printed with one of us before May 10th.
PLEASE NOTE, we will require your consent even if you do not wish to purchase a leavers hoodie. If we do not receive your consent then your child’s name will not be included in the design/print. Please give your consent by Monday 10th May. We will be unable to remove a student’s name once the design has gone to print.
If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact any one of us.
